Below is a picture taken from a Jenny in 1918 showing Call Field in Wichita Falls, TX
And the same photo today!
You can still see the outline of Call Field off the wingtip.
A few years ago, the city of Wichita falls gathered enough funds to buy this Jenny and display it at the WWI Call Field Living Museum at the Kickapoo Airport. Weather permitting, they flew the Jenny just about every weekend for people to enjoy. David Martin was one of their display pilots. I thought it was a fantastic idea!
Unfortunately, the city decided it was too much of a financial risk to keep the Jenny flying.
So, they are going to clip the Jenny's wings and hang it inside the Wichita Falls Airline Terminal building.
